Summary

A widely disliked art teacher at a posh private girls' school in Sussex disappears without explanation. None of her students miss her, especially since her replacement is a devilishly hunky male teacher with a fancy car. But why did Miss Gibbon's name show up on a police missing persons list, and why does no one care? Detective Peter Diamond, who is in Sussex much against his wishes on a Home Office internal investigation, becomes interested in the case. Have he and his hapless supervisor stumbled on a web of related crimes?
