"Water for Burleigh, Coolangatta and Tweed Heads was pumped from Tallebudgera Creek from an intake and pumping station completed in 1935. Additional storage was later provided by a small dam in 1950. The original Little Nerang River and Tallebudgera Creek schemes are not used but have been maintained and could supply 20 million litres of water per day in an emergency"
