This series of images shows an area between South Stradbroke Island, Mermaid Beach, and Tamborine Mountain; including Cedar Creek, Wongawallan, Coomera, Hope Island, Eagle Heights, Upper Coomera, Oxenford, Helensvale, Coombabah, Runaway Bay, Biggera Waters, Mount Tamborine, Guanaba, Maudsland, Gaven, Arundel, Parkwood, Labrador, Clagiraba, Mount Nathan, Nerang, Ernest, Molendinar, Ashmore, Southport, Main Beach, Paradise Waters, Bundall, Benowa, Chevron Island, Isle of Capri, Surfers Paradise, Lower Beechmont, Advancetown, Gilston, Worongary, Carrara, Clear Island Waters, Broadbeach Waters, Broadbeach, Mermaid Waters, and Mermaid Beach. The images show Coomera River; Coombabah Lake; Nerang River; Clagiraba Creek; Biggera Waters Creek; The Broadwater; The Spit; the Southport Bar and Gold Coast Seaway entrance before stabilisation works occurred in 1986; Gold Coast Turf Club at Bundall; and Surfers Paradise Raceway at Carrara. The photographs were taken from a vertical aspect at a height of 12,500 metres [4000 feet] on 14 October 1979. The album includes a map of the area with place names highlighted to assist in identifying locations for each image.
