Summary
Fan's idyllic life in Adelaide is interrupted when her mother, Agnes, announces the family must move to Western Australia to take care of Fan's grandfather, a man Agnes has never even mentioned before. As her relationship with her mother fractures, Fan is surprised to find herself forming an alliance with the crotchetty old man. While tension simmers between Agnes and Edwin, Fan takes to snooping amongst his possessions. In seeking truth from the fragments her grandfather has shared with her, Fan does not realise how carefully Edwin has constructed his story,â or what will happen to her family when she unearths secrets buried for decades
