The image spans Cavill Avenue in the north through to Thornton Street in the south. The Capri Bridge can be seen crossing the Nerang River in the centre of the image, Roma Park is located in the bottom right. The bridge connecting Surfers Paradise with Paradise Island is situated towards the top left of the image. Above and to the right of the bridge is St. Vincent's Catholic church and school. Articles refer to the establishment of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Surfers Paradise in 1946. In 1948 rooms were added and the church-cum-school was opened. In 1986 the school moved out to more spacious facilities at Clear Island Waters, Robina. The Gold Coast Highway flows from the centre right edge of the image, becoming Rememberance Drive at the Capri Bridge.
