Summary
Lancashire, 1897. As the country celebrates Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, a new community is forming on the banks of a lake in the Pennines. 'Jubilee Lake' will bring employment to the local villagers, and pleasure to holidaymakers from across the county - but the landowner needs an heir to run his new business.
