Summary
World War II, the German Army attacking, during the Battle of the Bulge. Taken by surprise, the allies ordered all troops to hold their line at all costs. The US 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division followed orders. Usually a reconnaissance group, these redoubtable men engaged in deadly combat until they ran out of ammunition. The whole platoon was captured, but only after they had held a crucial road junction long enough to seriously delay Joachim Pieper's SS battle group. By allowing the allies to regroup, they probably changed the course of this battle. The story shows their training prior to the engagement and their life in prison camps afterwards
