Summary
The book explores anecdotally the story of the Minnie Laurina Pound and her husband George Mills and their selection of farmland on the Nerang River near Latimers Crossing in Gilston which they named Mungurigan. The story recounts family life, indigenous peoples, local businesses and the growth of the Nerang Shire and Gilston districts in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The story continues into the 1940s follows the fortunes of the Mills family when they bought property and businesses in the Southport district also
