Summary
In the Shadow of the Sun (1980) A Derek Jarman film with music by Throbbing Gristle. Derek Jarman used some of his 70s home movie footage to produce this wonderful piece of exploitational avantgarde cinema. The Art of Mirrors (1973) The Art of Mirrors is an abstract film made in 1973 by director, Derek Jarman. The film, shot in super 8 features figures moving in the foreground and background of an empty space holding mirrors which occasionally flash in the lens of the camera. Ashden's Walk on Møn (1973) Ashden's Walk on Møn presents another side of Jarman's filmic aesthetic, one more closely tied to his painterly practice. Stolen Apples for Karen Blixen (1973) Stolen Apples for Karen Blixen, is a three-minute black and white film which begins with a portrait of Karen Blixen taken from a photograph. This is followed by a series of superimpositions featuring two figures crossing a Chinese style bridge in a high wind. A Journey to Avebury (1971) A Journey to Avebury lasts for ten minutes, and in its original state was nothing more than silent, static shots of fields, pathways, silhouetted trees, and finally the Avebury stones
