Note the extensive use of rocks along the beachfront. The image has possibly been taken at a time of beach erosion due to storms that hit the South Coast region in the late 1930s"The current clubhouse building was completed in 1935 and opened by the Queensland Governor on the 23 April, 1936. Clubhouse accommodation in the new building consisted of a bunkroom with three tier bunks, a small kitchen and first aid room on the roadside. Branching off the bunkroom was one cold shower and one toilet.
