Summary

From Essendon's near perfect 2000, through the Brisbane Lions threepeat,the Swans/Eagles tug of war in the middle years then Geelong Cats air of invincibility in the final years. The Noughties were the AFL version of king of the hill. The heavyweights slugged it out as never before. True professionalism took hold of our native game and every aspect went to much higher levels. Long Premiership droughts were broken by the Swans, the Cats and the Lions. Port Adelaide got an AFL Premiership Cup to go with their vast collection of SANFL silverware
