Original names - Jenkins, Pysden, Dowling, Pohlman, Lather.Presbyterian Church: Note:- The following 3 boxes of records cover two organisations within the Presbyterian Church a) Kirk Session which was made up of the Minister & Elders only & dealt with ecclesiastical matters b) Committee of Management - made up of elected members of the congregation & dealt with physical matters such as the maintenance of building, finances etc. There is an anomaly in the coverage of minutes for the latter around the late 1950s & early 1960s as there is an overlap in dates although the content of the minutes is different.Presbyterian Church; 1 of 3, Box E: Committee of Management Minute Book 6th Jan 1936 - 12th July 1949 - includes accounts. First entry regards presentations to Rev. J.F. McKay & Rev. Les. McKay. Names of members of Committee of management include J. Davidson, W. C. Lodder, M.G. Reilly, W.R. Dodds, Dr. W. Mackey, J. Purvis & T. Purvis. Minute Book 12th July 1949 - 12th Feb. 1957. Kretschmar 1950. Correspondence from H. W. Mayes regarding the need for a choir - He/she was the organists at the evening services. Thank you card from Hurst family regarding death of George Hurst Sep 1951 Letter from P. J. Earl Feb 1952 who had conducted the Southport Choir in the Church Hall & was objecting to the moving of a cabinet in which the music was kept. Correspondence from other Churches regarding a protest against Sunday night pictures at Coolangatta Aug to Oct 1951 Requests from various organisations to use the Church Hall Oct 1951 to Apr 1952 Letter from Mrs Catherine Pallisier requesting to remain a member of the congregation although she lived in Brisbane Jan. 1952 Covering letter regarding a report by Headquarters on the state of the local congregations Dec. 1951. Undated motion by Mrs Whelan regarding lack of a constitution for the Sunday School Minute Book 2nd Feb 1957 - 12th Apr 1960 (book largely unused) Minute Book 10 Dec 1950 - 10th March 1965. N.B. These minutes appear to be for a Charge Committee i.e. combined meeting of Committees of Managements from Beechmont, Nerang & Southport. Time period overlaps with minutes of the Southport only Committee of Management in separate books. Includes printed annual reports for 1963 & 1965, a letter from the Lay Preachers Assoc. 1965, Circulated letter from Rev.
