Summary
Compass template on parchment with hand written annotations of bearings and distances from 'Birribon'. This template would have been used to create a survey plan of the property. 'Birribon' homestead was established by Captain Walter John Browne in 1865 and operated as a dairy farm. The property was located on the Nerang River at the site of the Carrara sports complex. Walter Browne's step-son, Edward Cooper, inherited the property with his wife Lena. 'Birribon' was the home of the Cooper family until the late 1960's. The Carrara sports complex was built on the site in the 1980s
