Summary
Family history of Emily and Richard Holden. Emily Susanna, nee Hope, came to Australia with her parents, Frank and Susanna Hope on board the ship Otago. They settled in Wilston and Emily married Richard Holden in 1889 whereby they moved to Southport. In 1893 they travelled to Paraguary in the hope of a new life, but had returned to Australia bu 1903 taking up residence in Southport to run a dairy farm in Bundall. The Southport Gold Course and club is established on the site of their farm. Richard Holden enlisted in the First World War and was discharged with wounds. Includes a copy of the certificate of marriage for Richard and Emily, a note written by daughter Margarite Watts nee Holden about her family history and a transcript of an obituary published in the South Coast Bulletin 23 November 1960 about the death of Emily Holden
