Summary

Living on the thirty-first floor of a New York apartment, Randall is bored stiff. And also, he cannot write and longs for the peace of his African roots. But Meredith is perfectly content, enjoying the company of her artist friends, including Clint... Relying on Harry B's bar for friendship, Randall drowns his sorrow in alcohol. He hates his publishing commitments, wanting nothing to do with them. And meantime his marriage is crumbling. It's not long after that Randall's life completely breaks down and he finds himself back in the snowy mountains of the Isle of Man, questioning his purpose in life. Alcohol seems the only way out of his misery, whilst he frantically tries to find his way back to his one true love. Yet, hope is fading
