"Lores Bonney commeemorative flight farewell at Coolangatta Airport...the farewell is a prelude to a commemorative flight by MacGregor pilot Janice Ivey, who will retrace aviation pioneer Lores Bonney's historic flight 60 years ago from Archerfield in Brisbane to Wangaratta, Victoria. Lores Bonney is 94 years of age and lives in a Mermaid Beach nursing home. She will accompany Alderman Bell to the airport for this function. Mrs Ivey will fly from Brisbane for the function. During the flight Mrs Ivey will act as an ambassador for the Gold Coast, conveying greetings from the city to civic leaders at the various [sic] when she lands during her flight from December 13 to December 18."--Inscription on reverse
