Looking south there are three bridges, Chevron Island Bridge, Paradise Island Bridge and the Isle of Capri BridgeEarly development of McIntosh Island and Paradise Waters can be seen in the foreground. This photograph was taken before the construction of the Gold Coast Bridge was completed. Chevron Island is the heart shaped island in the middle. Isle of Capri is in the early stages of development. Mid right of the photograph is the undeveloped site of the future Gold Coast City Council Administration Centre and Gold Coast Arts Centre. This was originally all farmland and where Meyer's ferry landed on its journey across from the end of Cavill Avenue, Surfers ParadiseThere are only four high-rise buildings in Surfers Paradise, on the shoreline is The Sands, then heading south, Kinkabool and Paradise Towers almost next to each other, and Travelodge closer to the Surfers Paradise Bowls Club and Paradise IslandThe beaches on the shoreline from left to right are: Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach, Nobby Beach and Headland, Miami Beach, Burleigh Heads in the distance and the curve of the shorline to Coolangatta
