Main title
Coca-Cola Factory, Nerang, Queensland
Summary
"The factory was located on the current site of the Nerang River Plaza. This site was also previously occupied by the milk factory. In 1919 the Standard Milk Company, later owned by Nestle, commenced plans for a condensed milk factory at Nerang, which was to be supplied principally by Carrara dairymen. This large brick structure on the south bank of the Nerang River was a prominent site for many years, however it only operated as a milk factory from 1923 until October 1924."--Information taken from, Longhurst, Robert, Nerang Shire: a history to 1949, Albert Sire Council, Nerang, 1994, pp.171-172"The property remained unoccupied except for a time during the Second World War when it was used as an army canteen. Coca-Cola bought the property from Nestle in 1959, refurbished the factory and opened for production in January 1960."--Information taken from South Coast Bulletin, 23 November 1960
