Summary
Nat Lall's audibly focused take on London's contemporary queer scene brings an auditory experience to the realm of queer literature. In exploring intersectional issues of biphobia and racism in such scene, Lall's fictional narrator tells an intimate story of over-thinking and over-listening to oppressive comments and internal dialogues. Combined with twee, hand-drawn scores, the novella presents a naïve coming-of-age story woven with experimental music simulacra. This novella aims to bring young, local queers into the medium of sound studies as an alternative sensory experience to explore and meditate on pressing coming of age issues. Nat Lall is a multidisciplinary artist exploring dysphoria in the contemporary realm. Dominantly working with film, but also with text and as a DJ, their work comments on issues surrounding race, queer youth and mental wellbeing. Lall currently studies BA Sound Arts & Design at London College of Communication
