- Summary
- The popular legend of five young warrior monks continues but now the brotherhood is challenged. Hok, a Crane-style Kung Fu master, is also a master at hiding. For the past twelve years she has hidden the fact that she is a girl from her temple brothers. Now she must hide in plain sight, for her rogue brother, Ying, and his army have placed a huge price on her head. Suddenly, she is being sought by everyone in the countryside eager for the reward. Fortunately, she manages to make it to Keifeng where she finds her mother and a "round-eye" with the very funny name of Charles. Together Hok and Charles start to make some sense of the magnitude of Ying's plans. And the plans do not include the survival of the five ancestors. Praise for the Five ancestors series "Stone has done a masterful job of managing an intricate plot, developing authentic characters, and writing well-described fight scenes."--School library journal
