Summary
Features the work of Australian director Russell Mulcahy. In the 1980s, famed for directing visually striking video clips, Mulcahy was one of the most sought-after video makers in the world, directing videos for some of the most successful pop and rock acts of that period. He has the distinction of having directed the first music video ever aired on MTV: 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by The Buggles in 1981. Russell went on to make a name for himself as a film director, directing feature films such as Highlander, The Shadow, Resident Evil: Extinction and Resurrection to name a few. In 1986 Russell won the MTV s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, along with numerous Grammy Awards for videos with Duran Duran. Later, in 1998 he was awarded the Eastman Kodak Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Music Video Production Association.
