Development is just beginning to appear on the Isle of Capri. In the background is Bundall which is still undeveloped. The heavily vegetated island in the top right is known as Girung Island. The Surfers Paradise streets in this photograph are (from left) Fern, Frederick, Aubrey, Thornton and Vista. Garfield Tower in the middle is still not completed. Looking west, Bundall and Benowa can be seen with the Nerang River visible on the top leftDetails of Garfield home units can be found in the Ulinga Real Estate collection. The apartment building was designed by F. C. Eason (Payneham, Victoria). Almost all units were pre-sold prior to expected completion in winter 1967
