Summary
The memorial was originally located on the corner of James and Kent Streets, Beenleigh and was unveiled on 21st November 1925. The Beenleigh War Memorial was built by German master craftsman Peter Hortz Snr., who became a naturalised Australian in 1921. Made of concrete, it was moved to the corner of James and Crete Streets in 1995"This War Memorial was relocated, restored and refurbished to commemorate the fallen of all conflicts, by the citizens of the city of Gold Coast in the year of the fiftieth anniversary of the end of World War 11.
