"A Cobb & Co coach, far removed from the models which stopped operating on the Queensland run in 1924, is pioneering a modern day route linking Brisbane and the Gold Coast to Melbourne. The coach, complete with Gold Coast Golden Girls, Marie Louise Howie (left) and Debbie Cohen, will arrive in Melbourne after a week-long promotional journey which will have taken them through many historic Cobb & Co Stations in New South Wales and Victoria. Officials of Cobb & Co. are accompanying the Gold Coast girls, along with representatives of Gold Coast accommodation houses. The journey will launch a new tri-weekly service linking Melbourne and the Gold Coast."--Inscription on photograph
