Summary
With Earth reeling after the invasion, Peter Holman is chosen to travel to the home world to oversee the peace talks. The S'hudonni are apparently willing to share the riches of empire, at a price. Half friend, half pet to the charming yet dangerous prince acting as his host, Holman broadcasts the S'hudonni royal family's negotiations back home, where an anxious audience of billions wait to hear who will be granted control of the planet. But when a minor argument erupts into violence, Holman finds himself at the center of a power struggle that threatens not only the key negotiators but all of Earth. Meanwhile, not everyone is eager to live in the shadows of S'hudon; a rebellious faction strengthens back on Earth, and Holman realizes he may be responsible for determining the fate of Earth under S'hudonni rule. Together, he and his S'hudonni mentor must survive the escalating family violence, bring peace to both planets, and ensure the dawn of a new day
