Summary
Steph, Jo and Meredith have been friends since school. Their lives have all taken very different paths, but a romantic chateau in an idyllic village in the Dordogne brings them back together where they experience the highs and lows - and the reality - of creating that very special dream wedding in France. When Steph and husband, David, bought a B&B ten years earlier in the picturesque village of Bratenac, they had to get used to long hours, extensive and expensive renovations, and difficult guests, not to mention the stress on their marriage. So Steph is delighted to welcome Meredith, who is a high-flyer in finance in Hong Kong, and wants to revisit the place she'd spent many happy childhood holidays with her father. When Meredith hears that the beautiful chateau is up for sale, she realizes she's tired of executive life and decides to invest in the purchase with a view to establishing a wedding business. And what better partner than recently divorced Jo, and her daughter, Sophie, experts in the events business and desperate to leave England, to help set it up. It seems that Bratenac has much more to offer than sun, wine, fromage and chateaux, when a handsome local chef, a vigneron from New Zealand, not to mention the local ladies' luncheon club and a British bulldog named Nelly, join the party
