This image shows canal development in northern Palm Beach. The vacant land to the left of the canal construction in progress across the top of the image is to be the future site of the Mallawa Drive Sports Complex, Mallawa Drive runs parallel with the canal between the rows of residential housing. Townson Avenue runs horizontally through the centre of the image, the Gold Coast highway runs along the foreground of the image, intersecting with Twenty Fifth and Twenty Seventh Avenues providing access to the beach. The Palm Gardens Shopping Centre, corner of Townson Avenue and Mawarra Street, can be seen towards the centre left edge of the image. Tallebudgera Drive leads from the centre right edge of the image, crossing over the canal at the entrance to the Tallebudgera Creek.
