Summary

With Miss Julia's darling Sam off on a long-planned trip and Hazel Marie vacationing in Mexico with Mr. Pickens, life is simply too quiet for Miss Julia. Of course, she has Little Lloyd to take care of (though he's not that little anymore and she's trying to remember to call him Lloyd). And she has her housekeeper, Lillian, to take care of her. So what's she to do? Throwing a party for her closest twenty-five friends only keeps life exciting for one day, after all. Just as the party glow fades, she discovers that her dearest, most precious possession is missing - and there's really only so much Sergeant Coleman Bates can suggest other than letting the police take care of the investigation
