Summary
"A school named 'Mudgeraba' Provisional School opened on 24 October 1887 on land donated by Pierce Berigan. Known as 'The Mill School' it catered for the children of nearby selectors and timber mill workers. It was situated across the creek from Daisey's Mill, on the present site of the War Museum. The first teacher was G Goodwin. Children from the Berigan, Rosin, Anderson, Abraham, Lentz, Mibbs, Rathbone, Starkey, Browning, McIntire and Ferguson families attended the school. In 1920 the school was relocated further up Mudgeeraba Creek to a more central location on Anderson's property. The name was officially spelt with one 'e' until 1925. The school celebrated its Diamond (60th) Anniversary in 1947 but closed in 1955."--Burrows, Robyn. Dairies and Daydreams - The Mudgeeraba Story, page 86
