Summary
John Ogilby created the first roadmaps of Britain, measuring and describing them and publishing them in the form of strip-map itineraries in 1675. Terry Jones of Monty Python fame and an Ogilby collector, investigates how and why he did it and sets out to see whether it is still possible to find and travel along Ogilby's roads in Wales. On the way, he discovers the history of the roads and the people who lived on them and used them. The story that emerged took the series in an unexpected direction, eventually revealing a dark secret dating back to the time of Charles 11 and a previously untold chapter of British history
