Summary
Note the extent of the sand dunes in their natural state"The cutting made at the back of Kirra for the railway can be seen. Kirra Hill still has timber standing on the top, but most of it has been cleared of timber. The building just right of the Kirra cutting is Hotel Tweed established in 1910-1911. It later became known as Coolangatta Hotel and faced Marine Parade. The large building to the left of the image is McDonalds Hotel Grande built in 1913."--Information taken from R. Longhurst, From Tallebudgera to the Tweed, 1996"Coolangatta from Greenmount"--Inscription on photograph
