Summary
The memorial was originally located on the corner of James and Kent Streets, Beenleigh and was unveiled on 21st November 1925. The Beenleigh War Memorial was built by German master craftsman Peter Hortz Snr., who became a naturalised Australian in 1921. Made of concrete, it was restored and refurbished and moved to the corner of James and Crete Streets in 1995The water trough which formed the base of the Memorial was used to provide drinking water for horses in the early days
