Summary
1788. Asa Ardleigh, the impressionable daughter of a country squire, has travelled to Paris with her newly wedded sister, Philippa, it is the heady days before the Revolution. In Paris Asa first falls in love with dashing revolutionary Didier Paulin. But as the storm clouds gather over France, Asa must return home. Meanwhile in England, no one knows of Asa's liaison. A fortuitous marriage to Harry Shackleford beckons for Asa, as well as the solution to the family woes.
