Summary
The new civic centre was constructed in 1992 and officially opened in November 1993, incorporating community and theatre facilities. The new civic centre was a replacement for the Beenleigh Memorial Hall which burnt down on 13 July 1991. The Memorial Hall site is now the location of the Beenleigh Anzac Memorial. The civic centre is now known as the Beenleigh Events Centre [circa 2013], and is administered by Logan City Council. Albert Shire Council was merged with Gold Coast City Council in 1995, and Beenleigh was subsequently transferred from the administration of Gold Coast City Council to Logan City Council in 2008
